Submission Guidelines
Accepted submissions will be on the broad topic of mental health. Examples of questions and areas participants could but are not limited to explore are:

Why is mental health important to you?

What personal experiences with mental health do you want to share?

What do you think are the impacts of increased mental health awareness on our local community?
All submissions will be submitted in visual arts (handcrafted, digital, film).
Participants are not limited to a maximum number of submissions.
Any previously published pieces submitted to other contests will be permitted for resubmission in the (insert art contest name).
An artist statement (150 words max) will be required to accompany each submission.

How did you make your piece?

What message or sentiment do you hope to convey through your piece?

What specific and intentional artistic choices did you make and how have they enhanced the theme of your piece?

Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. All contestants are required to appropriately credit the sources that they have referred to at the end of their statement. Sources do not count in word count.
Participants can be assured that their submissions will be judged by a panel of experienced individuals who will be marked with a standardised rubric.
The deadline for submission is September 1st, 2024 at 11:59 pm PST. No extensions will be granted under any circumstances.

Numbered prizes will be showcased on the AOOC Instagram and website; please let us know if you are not comfortable with this or would like to remain anonymous on the submission form.

Film
Video must be at least 2 minutes and cannot exceed 4 minutes in duration.
Upload your film to Google Drive (preferred), YouTube, or Vimeo and provide the public URL on the submission form. Ensure that your video is not private.
